I’m a #SandersDemocrat and expect that I’ll be one for at least the next ten years.
After all, I’ve been a #DeanDemocrat since 2004.
What I want to say to all those who contributed time, money, heart and sweat to the campaign to make Bernie Sanders the Democratic nominee for President of the United States AND to all who did the same for Hillary Clinton, over the past 15 months is:
Hillary Clinton, on her worst day, is 10,000 times more qualified and able to BE the President of the United States than Donald Trump could ever hope to be.
Any more discussion of what progressives did wrong or what Sanders did wrong is irrelevant, at least until all the books by From the Beltway start coming out on the bestsellers list in time for the winter holiday season.
Any more group sighs over who did what to whom and when are just so much wasted time and effort, people. Wake the hell up. Stop fighting with each other over Primary angst. For good or for bad, it’s over.
But the big battle, it’s coming up.
Don’t let the tv bobble-heads fool you. Donald Trump is dangerous. Very, very dangerous. His disingenuous displays of childish anger over the perceived theft of conservative ideals (letting the gays live, much less let them get married, oh noes!) has riled up a Right which I, personally, didn’t really think could get any more riled up than they have been since a black man forgot his place and dared to #occupy the White House.
But LOOK at the images from Trump rallies. Look at the faces of these people. They are in a state of rage, lots of them. Hulk-ish, just getting ready to bulk up and turn green oompa loompa orange. Trump is BUILDING this and the Left had better get it’s scattered house together and present a united front.
Or the next thing you know, it won’t be an old, cranky, socialist who wants a unicorn OR a bought-and-paid for Oligarch in league with The RIchie Riches you’ll be bitching about any more. It’ll be that obnoxious and now President, Donald Trump, you’ll be ranting and raving about — and demanding to know how it happened.
#BeGoodDoGood
The goals of all GOOD DEMOCRATS and PROGRESSIVES everywhere!Like #OccupyDemocrats says, “Vote Democrat” AND do your best to make sure that every member of your family, every friend and neighbor, every person you know gets registered and casts a ballot on November 8, 2016. Because if YOU want the things on this poster, then you’d damned well better do more than JUST VOTE yourself.
Because we’re not getting THESE things from the Oval Office. For them, we’ll need Congress, Statehouses and County and City Councils and Mayors seats. #Downticket. Time to switch course and let go of the Office with the Resolute Desk in it, and take up the cause of the seats IN YOUR OWN STATE, COUNTY and CITY.
Like these #downticket candidates:
