I was going to prepare something this year to honor my deceased grandfather, Eugene E. Marx; who survived being shot down over Poland in WWII, being captured by and held as a POW of the German Nazi regime and marched in one of that war’s most horrific Death Marches, the Luft IV.
But the horrific reality of what is happening in our nation this week kept me from it.
All I can say is that I personally find the courage, dedication and determination of these Veterans remarkable in this day and age of self-obsession.
So if you have a Veteran in your family or circle of friends, make an effort today to let them know how much you appreciate their putting on that Uniform and standing up for you and yours.
Because without them, there would be no United States of America.
For 240 years American Armed Forces have stood up and protected this nation and it’s citizens from enemies foreign and domestic.
I know that in their hearts the greatest honor with which we could present them is a world in which their Service is no longer needed.
Happy Veteran’s Day
