This community has suffered greatly over the past year, we have lost some of our most vigorous and forthright voices.
Today, I wake and learn that Jim Wright of www.Stonekettle.com has been banned from the Book of Face. For doing what our media simply refuses to do: correctly label those who are, by their words, actions or even own admission, modern day Nazis.
Hasn’t there been enough restriction of free speech already? Daily Kos is not an outpost of the Government and thus not under the auspices of the First Amendment — but isn’t Free Speech one of the basic tenents of this Community?
I urge you to reconsider any and all bans (from stripping of the ability to rate to outright banning) anyone who received such during the past election season.
Tempers were high, and many people made statements which I’m certain they now regret (including myself on at least one occasion, which caused me to write this story back in December 2015); but most of them weren’t banned.
For our fellow Kossacks who were banned, or whose ability to rate was stripped from them for days, weeks, months or permanently? I appeal to you to reverse those decisions and welcome back our brothers and sisters.
For in the coming year and further, we will need their voices. I know that you know this already. So in the spirit of the Holiday Season which is upon us now, I ask you to consider a GENERAL AMNESTY.
