Kitchen Table Kibitzing is a community series for those who wish to share part of the evening around a virtual kitchen table with readers of Daily Kos who aren’t throwing pies at one another.
Drop by and tell us about your weather, your garden, or what you cooked for supper. Newcomers may notice that many who post diaries and comments in this series already know one another to some degree, but we welcome guests at our kitchen table, and hope to make some new friends as well.

#FreeSpeech Music MondayThe biggest proponent of Free Speech that I know personally, is the Freeway Blogger. In his honor THE song that fits his adventures in freeway blogging… “Signs” by the Five Man Electric Band circa 1971:
x xYouTube VideoFree Speech in public spaces, as the Founders intended. Where is our modern “public spaces” where Americans of all stripes are wont to congregate?
Our freeways and byways, that’s where.
So shouldn’t we be speaking to our fellow Americans where they are, day after month after year? Like the Freeway Blogger has been doing for nearly two decades now.
From issues as current as #DefendDACA and the Dreamers:
Sign over Highway 110To a message which Democrats have had to discuss since March 2003 over TWO different Republican presidencies, sadly:
To his “go to” message about Americans and the First Amendment :
So every time you hear “Signs”, please think of the Freeway Blogger and consider joining him.
Here’s his latest post on the signs up for the Labor Day Holiday on Daily Kos.
He’s on social media now:

What did I do this weekend?Spent some time researching my options on selling my lot. Since the county put the sewer main right down my property line, I no longer need my extra lot for my septic system. It’s worth about double what my mortgage is, so I’ll be able to climb right out of debt and fix some thing around Casa Angie. Good thing, one side of the soffit framing and the gutter atop it, on the bump-out of my mud-room/utility room fell the fuck down last week. Not to mention the refrigerator and stove which I need to replace, or the 10,003 other things which have gone waiting for a better bank balance than bupkis for a number of years now.
My easy contacts; one who bought a lot from my sister earlier this year and a private party interested in building a house large enough for his extended immigrant family, but who is tied up in some drama too intense to focus on this project; whom I spent part of August and September working with, both failed to finance. So I have an appointment to speak with a Realtor friend of my sister’s. I’m sure I’ll close in about 3 weeks or less. Because I have 3 of the most important things in a bare lot in an area of significant residential real estate building ongoing for > 35 years now. Location, location, location.
End of a 1,500 ft long dead end road with only 6 lots on it. Within 10 minutes of both freeways leading across the Columbia River from Washington to Portland, Oregon. The best schools in the county. Lovely park-like setting framed by old growth firs.
Slept, a lot. Because neither Mother Nature or #TinyhandsMagoo caused a disaster this weekend.
How was your Weekend?
