Kitchen Table Kibitzing is a community series for those who wish to share part of the evening around a virtual kitchen table with readers of Daily Kos who aren’t throwing pies at one another.

Drop by and tell us about your weather, your garden, or what you cooked for supper. Newcomers may notice that many who post diaries and comments in this series already know one another to some degree, but we welcome guests at our kitchen table, and hope to make some new friends as well.

THIS IS AN OPEN THREAD

#Empowering Music Monday

Music can soothe the senses or wake them up.

Today is a #WakeUp kinda day. For me, because I had insomnia last night and didn’t sleep until 8 am today and woke up just forty minutes ago, around 2 pm PST.

Let’s start with this Katy Perry pop-ballad (the melody reminds me of a Lumineers song) designed to pump you up, #Roar

Up next comes the version of this song which came out during the 2016 Democratic Convention and made a big splash…  #FightSong

Because they are the very image of empowerment, from how the group responded after the imbroglio over their comments about George W Bush, this Dixie Chicks song just belongs here #WideOpenSpaces

I’ll end with this song, it’s a great tune and full of great, empowering ideas — #Brave by Sara Bareilles…

Todays’s news that George Will (conservative talking head since the Reagan era) endorsed Democrat Doug Jones in the special election for the Alabama US Senate seat AND Senator Bernie Sanders endorsed Randy Bryce for the Wisconsin US House seat in CD 1 (Paul Ryan’s seat!) has me dancing on the ceiling!

What I did this weekend

Watched movies, the Xmen “Logan” and Tom Cruise’s “Mummy”.  Unlike almost everyone else, I didn’t like Logan but I did like Mummy. Go figure.

Caught up on “Orange is the new Black” on Netflix. Wow. That show just keeps getting better.

Have two offers on my lot, one too low and the other may take a while to come in, so there’s no news on that front, sadly.

How was your weekend?
