Kitchen Table Kibitzing is a community series for those who wish to share part of the evening around a virtual kitchen table with readers of Daily Kos who aren’t throwing pies at one another.

Drop by and tell us about your weather, your garden, or what you cooked for supper. Newcomers may notice that many who post diaries and comments in this series already know one another to some degree, but we welcome guests at our kitchen table, and hope to make some new friends as well.

#Ragnarok Music Monday

In honor of the release of Thor: Ragnarok on Tuesday, Feb 20th.

One of the most well known #armageddon themed songs in living history:

Eve of Destruction by Barry McGuire (live from 1965).

Not really sure why it’s got Jerry Lewis introducing the music, or what’s up with the Japanese subtitles, but you take what you get from YouTube.

For the 29 men of the Edmund Fitzgerald, it must have seemed like Ragnarok…

Gordon Lightfoot left an indelible mark on the American audience with this iconic tune.

What I did this Weekend

Myself, I splurged a bit this weekend and pre-ordered the Thor: Ragnarock film for it’s Tuesday release, because a miracle happened last week — and my lot sale closed. The buyer came up $10K and the debt firms reduced their demands by over $15K. So I no longer have a mortgage or any debt, and have enough to pay the county to connect to the sewer system.

I feel like I’ve been carrying around a 50 pound bag on my back for the past decade, because when I woke up Thursday morning, I felt light as a feather, and felt like I had had the best sleep in years.

Also because it appears I may be forming a professional consulting firm to assist statehouse and first time candidates for office. I still have a number of people to recruit, but I’ve gotten a “Yes, I’d love to join you” responses from a couple folks already and look forward to announcing our official launch sometime this fall (after the current cycle concludes). So out with the old life and in with the new.

and on that note a terrific trailer:

and I’ll see it just in time to start drooling over the next Marvel Comics Avengers Universe release…

Avengers: Infinity Wars coming to a theater near you this summer —
