Over the past week or two, I’ve been noticing a lot of background coding upgrades or testing going on here at Daily Kos.
For the most part, it appears to be a shift away from the traditional Daily Kos Orange to a generic baby blue.
The blue? I like blue as much as the next liberal, progressive Democratic voter, maybe even more. But what I really like is Daily Kos orange.
I always thought that black was my favorite color, but I went on a bit of shopping spree recently, having a few quatloos left over from my real property sale and sewer lateral line installation, so I picked up some new hotpads for the kitchen (my old ones were terrible, darkened by near scorching events from the past mumble-mumbledy years). I discarded most of the choices and decided to go with a silicone backed, slide your hand in the pocket in front oven pad and a number of plain and printed fabric hot pads to set hot dishes and pans on.
These are them. Notice the appearance of any familiar color in there?

See how LITTLE orange is visible there?

Notice how #FlagGuy used to still be an integral part of the Branding of DK and the Motto used to maintain it’s position in top right, in the power-corner.
This is what #FlagGuy and the motto used to look like, in the early days:
I hope the intention isn’t to migrate to a full BLUE color scheme, because there is something unique and memorable about the original orange paint job on the Daily Kos Clubhouse.
Am I the only person here who misses what used to make this place so easy to pick out among the bazillion websites on politics — a big, bold splash of Orange in the midst of bland blue and red?
