I’ve known it since the late fall of 2017. Tonight, I was proven right, in a pretty big way.
For eight long and tedious years I’ve watched the current incumbent, Jaime Herrera Beutler, turn out numbers in the primary and the general of about 65% for her and 35% for the Democratic opposition.
Until Carolyn Long burst onto the scene, holding over 30 in-person actual Townhalls all over the District since last November.
Jaime Herrera Beutler wouldn’t know what this is. She has NEVER held a local townhall. She phones it in, in those phoney, pre-screened Telephone Faux-Townhalls a lot of Republicans use to AVOID their constituents.Carolyn has raised about a half million dollars and after tonight, I know for sure she has put that money to good use.

Total Dem votes in the District: 58,035
Total GOP votes in the District: 57,335
That’s a tie race and it doesn’t bring in the higher numbers of registered NEW DEM voters who will likely turn out for November.
