Donald J Trump is an idiot and a stain upon the nation.
He is PROUD that 800,000 federal employees and their families (that’s about 1 out of 300 people in the entire country, btw) are now living without any idea of when their next paycheck will be arriving. There are many more federal employees of the contract labor variety, and while those directly employed by the Federal gov’t may see a check for all of the time they were either furloughed or working without pay as “essential” labor, the contract labor force will not see a penny. It’s been nearly two weeks now. How long would YOU stay with a company without any idea of when they’d put you back to work? What happens if thousands or tens of thousands of them leave and aren’t available when work finally starts back up in the Federal gov’t?
His continued bleating of the phrase “there is no border security without a wall” is so damned stupid that it makes my brain hurt every time I hear or read it.

The idea that a wall across only one portion (1954 miles of the 8,878 miles of the continental US perimeter) of our nation’s borders will protect the entire country from invasion is ludicrous.
Increasingly, each time I think of the man in the Oval Office, I think of this phrase by King Henry II about the Archbishop of Canterbury: Will no one rid me of this turbulent priest?
In this scenario, Trump is playing the role of Thomas à Becket; and we all know how that ended for Thomas, now don’t we?
