Since 2009, our community members Sara R and winglion (Ann) have created over 150 of these beloved Community Quilts for members of Daily Kos or their family members. Early on, since around 2010, they started making Pootie Pads and other small quilted items, too. This work is what has paid the bills for these two wonderful women for nearly a decade now. 

Over the past five or six years, both Sara R & Ann have had a number of health issues, and some of them have been significant, putting Ann’s life in danger early this year when she had a heart attack. Regardless of the ups and downs of their health, they have continued to contribute to the list of people who have received a Community Quilt, but more of their time is spent on producing Pootie Pads and other quilted pet toys, as an income producing revenue stream.

We also make pads for people!  Well, they are lap throw quilts -- and they have organic lavender flowers in the batting.  Many people find the scent of lavender to be relaxing and sometimes helpful in soothing headaches away.  Our lavender quilts are $175 plus shipping.

The Pootie Pad is a product designed by my sister, Ann, to suit the pooties in the Daily Kos community.  It is a small quilt for cats that comes in three sizes that has fistfuls of catnip distributed on both sides of the batting. And the catnip is quilted in.  Cats love them.
