Biden has problems with words, Bernie has problems with supporters. Neither is a delusional liar.

Yes, Joe Biden has stumbled on some things. I’ve watched him say things that have made me ask, “wait, what did he say?”

Yes, Bernie Sanders has either a fairly good sized contingent of his supporters OR a fairly good sized contingent of Russian Troll/Bot which unleash daily diatribes against not just his current opponent(s) in the Democratic Presidential Primary [Joe Biden (Tulsi Gabbord is still officially running but only in her mind, based on her Delegate count and reality)], but anyone on social media who dares post anything less than RAH RAH SIS BOOM BAH about Bernie Sanders. 

But compared to Donald “Would-be King” Trump? 

Please. Be fucking serious. Donald Trump is a incoherent, lying, schmuck without honor or decency and an unmitigated braggart and fool who is putting the health and welfare of the entire Republic at risk because he is TOO STUPID TO UNDERSTAND WHAT A PANDEMIC IS. 

Or to do what is needed to gain control of this previously unknown virus which will kill a certain percentage of the people it manages to infect (currently believed to be about 2% of those infected). 

So if y’all want to keep writing stories about Joe or Bernie and how each of them has flaws and backbite in the comments and stir shit? Go ahead you fools. 

Vladimir Putin may well be reading here and laughing his fucking ass off.  Because those who are doing so, are doing HIS WORK FOR HIM. 

It’s clear that people have come down on one side or the other. The remaining contests in the next few weeks will give us a more definite winner, and it may not be “official” until the Convention in August, but one of these two old, white men will have a clear, commanding lead — and will without a doubt come into that August Nominating Convention and win a decisive first ballot. 

Unless the Base of the Democratic Party continues on in a circular firing squad mode and throws away our only chance to change the course of the nation in a goddamned generation. 

Mitch McConnell prevented how many nominees to the Federal Courts from Barack Obama? He has been shoveling Trumps (utterly unfit and many labeled so by Bar Associations) nominees to Federal Benches as fast as he can. Nearly single-handedly, McConnell has placed his imprint on the future 20 or 30 years out, many times with nominees unfit to be local dog catcher, much less a Federal Judge with a life-time appointment

What do I suggest you all write about while we wait for Tuesday the 10th and more votes? 

I challenge each one of you who posts multiple BERNIE or JOE stories each day, which end up on the Rec List more often than not, to stop it. Now. Instead post a story in support of a candidate from YOUR state. A US Senator or a State Senator. A US House Rep or YOUR representative to the State House from your District. Make it local. Put their campaign website URL and their Act Blue link in the story. Ask folks to take a breather from the presidential onslaught and send a few quatloos to some down-ticket races, because they need it, too. 

Most of all — stop writing those stories because even for someone who doesn’t want to get all riled up and fight with their fellow Democrats when the real opposition is not voting for someone with a (D) next to their name on a ballot this fall; that person will sometimes lose their grip and start throwing barbs back at you and the next thing you know it’s a straight line on the right side of the page in the comments threads because they pushed too far out, too fast… and you know as well as I do that THAT is a sign of a ruckus in the thread. There is a good chance that someone has thrown shade at a candidate or a tv ad or something, enough to set off someone else, who replies with something just as bad or worse, which in the heat of the moment sounded a lot more smooth in their head than it does out on the monitor. 

Do I have a dog in this fight? Of course I do, but after something I wrote last year, I drew back and thought hard about how I wanted to be heard and seen, and I’ve decided not to take the high road so much as just stay in my lane more and avoid the damned potholes which really are plain to see if you are looking for them. 

Again, no matter which side of the line you stand on here at the back stretch of the Democratic Presidential Primary, keep in mind that ONE OF THEM will be our guy on November 3, 2020. 

There will be a clear and present danger to the Republic waiting to demean and attack one of them after the nominating Convention, with TV and Facebook ads and lies innumerable coming directly from the vacuous fool with the worlds longest comb-over, who never saw a lie he couldn’t wait to tell. 

How about we spend the time between now and then rising up and supporting the hundreds and thousands of people running for all of the other Offices at stake this year? How about we all spend at least some time registering voters, and get some of those 50 to 100 million people who are eligible but not registered on the voting rolls — so that we CAN produce a massive blue wave and sweep away the horrid Republican horde this fall. 

So that come January 3, 2020 there will be a new Senate Majority Leader (and considering she won’t be our next president, I damned sure want Elizabeth Warren to be our incoming leader in the Senate) and we can send Nancy Pelosi back to wrangle that herd of 434 Congress-critters one more term (at least).

So that we can put enough Democratic nominees for Governor in those seats — and they can do what the insane and cruel GOP Governors before them refused to do, take Expanded Medicaid for their state! Put more of the 28 million Americans STILL without healthcare insurance on the path to getting insured. 

So that our state legislatures can undo some of the worst of the GOP legal shenanigans of the past 15 years. Wipe the crazy “Abortion services clinics must have corridors as wide as hospital corridors” laws off the books. There are a plethora of bad and worse laws on the books on every state. Clean that up and make life better for families. 

So that we can go back to living in a country where we seldom hear from ANYONE in the Federal Gov’t. Because there won’t be another scandal and outrage every other day. Because the new President and the Congress won’t be creating new scandals, they’ll be working for the benefit of the American people. Because they’ll be people who believe in these words: 

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed. That whenever any form of government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety and happiness.

#FightHard for our ideas and ideals — just don’t try and wreck the car while you are getting there.
