If the 2022 candidates for the US Senate & House
took a vow to pass Laws in the 118th Congress and send them to the Resolute Desk in the Oval Office for President Joe Biden to sign into law, for the following issue, because with those margins all of these things would be possible:
Within the first 100 days
Reproductive Rights including abortion, contraception and other related healthcare needs
Substantial firearms regulation, including a ban on weapons designed for the battlefield (like the AR15) and true Universal Background Check on all sales and transfers of firearms including those between individuals and a waiting period of at least seven days
Overturn Citizen United and require all political donations be identified by personal data and that all such donations by businesses or organizationsbe limited to the same amount as those which currently apply to individuals
Within the first six months
Top marginal incometax rates of 65% of all income over $10 million to $50 million; 75% of $51-$100 Million; and 80% of all income over $100 million
Term Limits for all Congressional Offices not to exceed 30 years combined service in both the US House and Senate — subject to ratification as these would qualify as Constitutional Amendments
Within the first year
Climate Change amelioration standards and implementation plans with 5, 10, 20 and 50 year goals and how to get there
If they would take an Oath and promise you that they would produce bills for all of these things within the first 100 days, the first six months and the first year — if we give them at least 53 US Senators and keep the Speaker’s Gavel in the hands of a Democratic Speaker (if not Pelosi, then whomever the House would elect in her place) with a minimum of 218 Democratic Party members…
would you Vow to do whatever it took to give them those majorities?
I know that I would.
