So Musk has completed his purchase of Twitter and taken it private, pulling stock from the Market.
There is already an undercurrent of fear on the part of the more Moderate, Liberal and Progressive sectors of the platform, wondering when the crazy will ramp back up.
I’ve seen Tweets advising the Left to look to alternatives like Tribel Social
One of the founders and owners of that platform:
A short thread warning Twitter users about Tribel Social from a guy with a self identified military intelligence background and 185K followers on Twitter:
OIF/OEF Veteran @USNavy Mustang @VillanovaU Alum Military Intel National Security Bylines: @Newsweek
Another alternative I’ve seen offered is Counter.Social
Their terms of service appear to be much like those of Daily Kos but I can’t find anyone on Twitter who uses that platform.
However the person acknowledged as the creator and owner of Counter.Social has a Twitter account: @th3j35t3r he is a self-identified “gray-hat hacktivist”

This guy:
So, those are the two similar type platforms I’ve seen talked about and neither one of them is making me want to move (even if the Ochre Ogre returns to Tweet, as seems likely).
What I’m wondering, kos, is if you have the time, and the inclination to launch a DK vertical TownSquare short message platform.
It appears that it can make you and Daily Kos LLC a boatload of money in the moderate to long term.
Like Counter.Social you could make some limitations as to what you would allow and what the site would block.
You’d have a built-in base of users who would sign up on Day One and plenty of us who would be ready to buy a premium monthly fee account ($5-$10).
Who can see a white and orange Ballot Box in the center of Town Square with Speakers standing on crates on the edges speaking to all and sundry, and voters in a line snaking past the ballot box?
With a headline that reads:
The Town Square, where every voice can be heard
Like the lede says: Build it, and they will come
Oh, wait. Guess what @Jack has been up to in 2022?
Perhaps he sold a platform he was ready to replace, for far over Market Value, with something new?
I’m on the Beta List and will keep you all updated, when I hear more.
