Seeing and responding to comments.
There is simply no way to have a conversation when at least half of the time I hit the new front page icon for Recent Replies and all I see is the framework of the replies page with no data. Same applies to using the Avatar drop-down menu and the “my comments” link.
The eternal wait time for stories with over a couple hundred comments is also long enough, in most cases, for me to just X-out of the page and forget about trying to converse with whomever it was who replied to me.
Truth be told, I'd be willing to wait a bit to read the story for the first time, but I'm not willing to wait that same amount of time to read a comment — or worse yet, a series of comments and replies (otherwise known as a conversation). Because with all of this time-delay it's simply impossible.
With the First in the Nation presidential primaries starting on February 1st, how is DK even marginally ready for the massive uptake in traffic we're likely to see starting in just a couple of weeks?
