Kitchen Table Kibitzing is a community series for those who wish to share part of the evening around a virtual kitchen table with readers of Daily Kos who aren’t throwing pies at one another.
Drop by and tell us about your weather, your garden, or what you cooked for supper. Newcomers may notice that many who post diaries and comments in this series already know one another to some degree, but we welcome guests at our kitchen table, and hope to make some new friends as well.

#OnDying Music MondayThe news for Chez Angie, like most of America under the thumb of would-be Dictator 45, is not good this week.
My ex, the father of my two children is dying and soon. The Ex, the current wife, our girls and grandkids and the ex’s brother & his family are all up for his last trip into the hills and mountains which surround the northern end of the Willamette Valley here in sw Washington State. They’ve rented a few ‘cabins’ (tiny houses from before the time anyone called them that) at a beautiful place called Northwoods, which is about an hour and a half drive north-northeast of the Columbia River at the PDX/Vancouver Metro area. They’ll be leaving tomorrow morning for home.
Imagine what the small village the tiny houses of the Seven Dwarves might look like; nestled under towering old-growth firs and sited on the banks of a placid lake filled with brown and rainbow trout. Not a bad place to make some final memories in.
I am constantly amazed at how sad all of this makes me, considering that we had a contentious and litigious divorce and a slowly dying relationship for at least five years before the end. But then again, our hearts don’t always listen to our brains, now do they, otherwise I’d likely have never married him in he first place — because he never proposed. He visited his mother (his father having passed a few years prior) and told HER we were getting married; then he came home and told me. Fool that I was, I just said, ‘ok’.
Because I hadn’t ever really been interested in getting married, my parents and their marriage had been like living in the midst of a small, middle east war zone. Fights, fights and more fights, sometimes with things like shoes and shovels being wielded or thrown as weapons. Seriously.
C'est la vie, as the French say.
The Musical Interlude…Because life isn’t a destination, but a journey, here are some tunes which remind us all that it isn’t the dying which really matters — but the living you do before death comes for you.

x xYouTube Video What happened out in the world this week?Out in the world? 45 hired fucking Rudy “9/11! 9/11! 9/11!” Giuliani as his latest legal beagle and what did Rudy do? Went on Fox News and said 45 “funneled money” to Stormy Daniels via his attorney Michael Cohen — annnnnd the next day, of course, he publicly announce that everything he said the night before was only how HE, Rudy, viewed things and that none of that was what 45 thought about things.
So, the 45 Administration is still chugging along in it’s normal FUBAR fashion; and Rudy is the perfect foil for 45. Both of them are boorish, woman-demeaning, shady-business-practicing assholes of historic proportions.
May they both lay infamous for all time once they leave this mortal coil, at the head of one of the most disgusting and corrupt governments which ever ruled These United States.
How was your weekend?
