I just had a late nap, an early bedtime really, from being worn out and tired from playing with a 20 month old toddler for eight hours. I didn't mean to nod off, but I forgot to take my medicine before dinner and thus my blood sugar rose too high and off to la-la land I went around 7:00 pm all unexpectedly.
I assume my inborn need to not flake out on my Wednesday What IF diary woke me... or it might have been what I was so convinced was true when I woke up five minutes ago that I immediately had to go and google...
Dick Cheney dead.
Yes, I dreamt that he died and escaped without ever paying any price for all the damage he has thus far wrought upon this earth.
Thank goodness, I was wrong. Of course I wouldn't wish anyone dead before their time... but really, am I the only person who wonders how a 71 year old guy qualified for a heart transplant?
At any rate, I was absolutely convinced that he was gone when I woke up.
This has happened to me only a few times in life, and never with a belief this strong.
It also occurs to me that it was the benefit of my living at this particular time when I have the ability to wake from such a lucid dream and instantly check out whether or not I had dreamed it, with the Internet. Makes me wonder what it would be like to live in a prior era when such instant confirmation or denial of my dream was not available. How long would my certainty have lasted?
Has this happened to anyone else? Not the dreaming of the demise of one of America's most loathed leaders in this or any era, but the inability to discern reality from the dream world to such a strong degree upon awakening.
I just wish I'd dreamt of this instead...
Sorry, just #SNARKas always...
